Beauty And The Beast

“I hate this couple’s costume,” yelled Tod as he kept his eyes on the road. “Why did I have to be the beast again?”

“Because,” Amy complained, “I thought it would be a cute couple’s costume, and we’re only wearing it tonight. So, by tomorrow morning, you can go back to your polos and washed-out jeans.”

“You know they’re going to be making fun of me right? They’re going to say ‘wow Tod, that costume really shows how much your parents love you,’ or something like ‘that costume really catches how you feel on the inside.’ I don’t need all of that humiliation tonight.”

Amy threw her head back in a cackling fit. She dabbled at her eyes before muttering, “nonsense! You look just fine…it’s really cute.”

“Like you can say,” Tod growled, “you’re the sweet, stunning, and all-time-favorite Bell. I’m just the ugly beast that follows you around.”

“Stop being a baby and turn right. The house is at the end of the block.”

“Fine, but if my life turns to shit, then I’m leaving you behind.”

With a smirk, Amy batted her lashes at him and said, “only way to find out is to face the music, hun.”

Getting out of the car, they inched their way to the front door, hand-in-hand like their high school days. But when they stepped up to the door, the door swung open and caught sight of the royalist couple in town.
