WRITING OBSTACLE

A homograph is a word that has multiple meanings but is spelt the same way for each - e.g. a 'wave' in the sea, or to 'wave' at someone.

Choose a homograph, and write a short story or poem, in any genre, where you use your chosen word for more than one of its meanings.

Tear

Tear in my heart,

Tear in my eye,

Oceans apart,

If I could fly,

I’d be coming to you,

No matter the distance,

A bit desperate,it’s true,

Forgive my persistence,

Two months alone,

I cling to our calls,

Never leave my phone,

What if we lose it all?

Time is wearing,

Our bones away,

My sirens blaring,

I wish you had stayed.
