The Cats And The Birds

I am lost!

I am lost!

Whatever will I do,

My mind a jumble, my words askew.

We both agreed whatever it takes,

Now that we both see the image of the king dead in the lake.

It was a hard pill no mistake,

Sweet kittens danced around my chains.

I told him I wanted to sing, to dance,

He once told me he’d rather see ‘a bird’s charade’.

The deal we made was on shallow land,

No one bore wittness to our assassination plan.

Red in my fury I took a final gaze,

To turn back now left me in dismay.

He called me on Friday I swear he knew,

The angle of the moon jeering soon.

Be as we are we both have our dues,

To our friends, family, his pet birds too.
