POEM STARTER

Using twelve stanzas, write a poem about each month of the year.

A Whole Year

A frosty chill

With the evening warmth

The heat rises

With hearts of pure red

Continue, the heat does,

And green clovers dance

Then with showers of rain

Accompanies the heat, hand in hand

The flowers bud from the ground

Embracing the sun

Then Summer comes around

Beaches and vacations

Summer begins to go back to rest

And the small mortals wave glumly

Then the heat is high one more

Sending off the small mortals to an institution

There’s nothing special about this one

Just some leaves—red, orange, and yellow

Ghost and creatures dash in the night

Going house to house

Then food fills the table: turkey, stuffing, ham

As the heat starts to disappear

Then the end is near

The cold and presents throwing everyone cheer
