POEM STARTER
Inspired by Silver_Fox
If your hand could reach inside my heart, what would you do with it?
Write a poem with this as the opening line
Love Like You.
If your hand
Could reach inside my heart,
What would you do with it?
Would you break it,
Like and egg shell,
So fragile and useless?
Would you ignore it,
Like your alarm,
When you need to get up in the morning?
Would you decieve it,
Like a child,
So young and clueless?
Would you abandon it,
Like a wrapper,
Unwanted and pointless?
There are many things that you can do
Some of them bad
Some of them good
So tell me,
If you ever could,
What would you do with it?
Would you try to fix it,
Like a vase
When it crumbles to the ground?
Would you love it,
Like a father
So caring and proud?
Would you nurture it,
Like a mother,
With love that meets no bounds?
Would you cherish it,
Like the air
That makes the world go round?
I want to love you
I promise I do
I want to love you too
But with the things I’ve seen
Some things so cruel
I can’t trust
I can’t appreciate
All the things that you do
So maybe
Just maybe
You can teach me how to love
Teach me how to love
Just like you.
