Deep in the Jungle

Deep in the jungle,

Where thick green vines

tangle round trees

Where vibrant flowers cry

for rainforest bees

Where radiant birds shimmer

like rare little jewels

Where lazy frogs wander

like ignorant fools

Where tiny green pools

shield glittering fish

from hungry still predators

who have an ill wish

Where soft furred monkeys

swing from dropping vines

plucking sweet fruit

that must taste divine

Where moss covered limbs

serve scampering spiders

who weave a great home

to welcome outsiders

Where yellow eyed snakes

let out a sharp hiss

To ward off clumsy mammals

Who just want a kiss

It’s in this place

where life itself roams

Deep in the jungle

is where I call home.
