POEM STARTER

If wishes fell like rain, then certainly I am a storm.

Write a poem with this as the opening or closing line.

If Wishes Fell Like Rain

The sky is grey, the wind is cold,

The clouds are gathering,

my heart is bold.

As I stand here, I look up high,

And wonder why, oh why, oh why?

If wishes fell like rain,

then I would be a storm.

But here I stand, and feel so torn.

For every wish I make, seems lost in space,

I wish I could see them on my face.

My wishes are like raindrops, falling in the dark, I reach out my hands, but I cannot catch them, before they leave their mark.

My wishes are like clouds, they drift away,

Leaving me here, with nothing to say.

But even though my wishes seem so far,

I'll keep on wishing upon every star.

For even if my wishes don't come true,

The act of wishing makes my heart

brand new.

If wishes fell like rain, then I would be a storm.

But even if they don't, I'll keep on wishing, warm.
