We fly

We fly high

No idea when when we come down

Not wanting to go back to town

At the peak

We become weak

We fall

We fall far

Like a shooting star

We scramble to latch on

To what?

Anything

Everything

As we fall

I feel so tall

Even when I plummet

I reach my summit

In the sky is where I want to be

But is not where I need to be

Just because I fall

Does not mean I need to feel small

Farther and farther I fall

When I reach the unknown

I may need to crawl

I do not know where I will go

But I do know I won’t fly
