Quiet Down
It smells of butter…but it’s not overbearing, it never is and if anything it’s inviting, maybe even hunger inducing.
Over the hushed conversations I can hear the crunching of snacks, popcorn being the most ambitious.
A box of candy rattles to my left as an aluminum can snaps open to my right.
A couple arrives to their seats in front of us, their shoes sticking to the floor below.
The lights begin to dim in unison, as the room fills with whispers of excitement.
It’s time to quiet down, for the shows about to start.
