A Struggling Tale
( Inspired by New York Times Wings of Fire )
“And so the scavenger STABBED Queen Oasis in the BACK and SNATCHED ALL THE TREASURE FOR THEMSELVES!” The Sandwing exclaimed.
“Wait, waaait wait wait, slow down, Ash! You don’t need to be yelling and be so dramatic! I get the moto. Can you explain the Succession War more..Calmly?” Aloe tried to ask. Ash was always so over-dramatic it was ridiculous. He couldn’t even UNDERSTAND her! Not only was she dramatic, she talked way too quickly. And whenever he asked her to talk slower, she would talk like a turtle! Arghhh, it was so frustrating.
“Don’t yell at meee!” Ash said in a teasing voice.
Aloe frowned at her, frustrated as always with ash. 𝘞𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘴𝘩𝘦 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘮𝘦 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘰𝘶𝘴𝘭𝘺!? He grumbled silently.
“Ash, you’re the only one here who fought in the War. Can you please make it so we can understand you?”
“Okay. Queen Oasis was talking to her daughters like, ‘’I’m going to check the treasury!’’ And then Blaze was like, ‘’Ooo Sparkly things! Good night, mother.’’ And then Blister said, ‘’May I come, mother?’’ And Oasis obliged. Then Oasis was thinking like—‘’I know what you want to see, Blister. Since the day Blister hatched, I knew she will be the one to kill me—“
Aloe would cut her off, saying, “Now that’s too 𝘮𝘶𝘤𝘩 info! It’ll take forever for you to get to the plot, no dragonet wants to listen to that! You need to stop being dramatic, put less info but enough to make sense, and actually PUT YOUR MIND INTO WHO YOUR TELLING TO.” Aloe growled.
This went on for hours.
Ash was acting dumb, (or she was dumb,) and she was probably upsetting Aloe on purpose! He finally gave up, sat down, and looked her straight in the eye showing her that she needs to stop for a second.
“Ash,” He started. “Where’s the library? A scroll would be better to read rather than trying—No, attempting—to listen to you.” He sighed.
“The library? Oh, it’s down the second corridor. But your missing out!” She called as Aloe stretched, and was getting up to walk down to the public library.
He got up, walked down and grumbling, “Yup. Totally missing out.”
