Write a poem exploring feelings of contentment and satisfaction.
While a large portion of poetry deals with difficult emotions; consider how you can express the opposite side of that.
The Apartment
The thud above me.
The simmer beside.
The laughter scattered about the hallway.
The way the sun decorates a pillow.
The knowledge of traffic.
The scent of candles.
The yawns and sniffs.
The musing.
And I can’t help but thank the mundane for its company.
With a breath and a grin, I ask it to stay.
