POEM STARTER
Write a Petrarchan Sonnet on the theme of Autumn.
A Petrarchan Sonnet has 14 lines; the first 8 must have a rhyme scheme ABBAABBA, the last 6 can have variable rhymes, but are normally split into 2 sets of 3 lines.
transition to winter
things started dying today
like they always do
as will me and you
that is just to say
the leaves are falling away
grass a sepia hue
daylight more subdued
darkness here to stay
prepare for hibernation
during winters duration
you might not see the light
wrap up tight
take on the night
the season of the raven
