Offered Ride
I stopped and stared at him. The man in the car shot me a charming smile as he gave me a slow blink. I glanced around. He was the only car on the road and I was the only person. I knew I should run. Every fiber in my being told me I needed to run instead I said, “No thank you.”
He smiled again, “Are you sure? It is pretty chilly out here.”
I pressed my lips together, “No thank you, again. I am just fine.”
It was chilly but I ran. Finally I ran. The man let out a grunt as I took off running. My legs carried me as I took off down the street his car following me. I found a one way street and he kept after me. Half way down it I turned and went the other way turning down as many random streets as I could. Then I hid. Who knew what this man wanted and I was only a lonesome girl walking home from work.
