Everything Ends
The sun is burning, spreading a wave of orange and red across the sky, setting the horizon on fire. Trees fall, buildings crumble to the ground, children scream, adults cry. This is it, they thought. This was the end.
They could have done something about this. This all could’ve been stopped. But people don’t like to admit that they’ve made mistakes, and nobody knows how to grow.
She reaches down and grips another’s hand tight as she watches this burning flame. Perhaps she is standing next to a lover, or a friend, or a stranger. It doesn’t really matter. Either way, they would be dead before too long.
How did they come to this? The Earth has been here for millions of years, indestructible, and yet here it is now, dying. It’s been neglected, ruined, destroyed by the very things it was made to protect.
But there was nothing anyone could do. It was too late.
She watches the world go up in burning flame. And just like that, everything ends.
