"Once we went to the pretzel hut at the petting zoo while I held the bunny.

My mom and dad had to save up for a real long time because we didn't have much money."

We got to see the animals, and I was super glad,

Even though we don't have lots, like some other kids have had.

The bunny was so fluffy, like a pillow with a face,

I hugged it tight and felt like we were in a happy place.

The pretzels smelled like yummy bread, and tasted oh so good,

I shared with bunny, just a bit, I hoped that's understood.

We laughed and played, and saw the sights, the animals all 'round,

That day was special, full of joy, the best one that I've found.

So when I go to bed at night, and close my eyes to sleep,

I think about that day and know, it's a memory I'll keep.

It's not about the stuff we have, or money in a jar,

It's laughing, hugging, loving, that makes us who we are.

"Some kids at school, they point and laugh, 'cause my shoes are worn and old,

And my clothes are not the brightest, they're not shiny, neat, or bold.

But I just hug my bunny tighter, and I think about that day,

The pretzel hut, the zoo, the joy, and their words just fade away.

'Cause Mom and Dad, they love me, and that's all I really need,

Their smiles are like the sunshine, that makes a flower's seed.

So let them laugh, it doesn't hurt, I'm richer in my heart,

With memories to cherish, that’s the best part!
