“She is 16! We know what happens when they become adults,” said Ms. Reign warily and intensely into the microphone while looking at her opponent.
She moved forward on the podium to connect with the captivated audience listening so closely. The only sound audible, besides the sparing duo, was the buzzing of the cameras capturing the debate.
“Adults LIE. They always have and if you elect Ms. Georgia as president, you will bring our country back to the primitive days.”
The crowd, who were no longer silent, muttered in quiet agreement while there were some silent nods of approval.
Ms. Reign’s entire body shuttered disgustedly. Her voice began to increase in volume while she continued her speech.
“The days before we the children took care of this country! Back when our country was corrupt, back when our country was unsafe, and back when our country was scared. America is that what you want?”
A loud roar of agreement exclaimed from the crowd while Ms. Reign took a quick pause. Slowly reviewing the room, she watched with pure satisfaction. Both her and Ms. Georgia knows that this debate is over.
Ms. Reign extended her right arm towards Ms. Georgia and spoke once more into microphone making direct eye contact with the camera and her supporters.
“How can we trust you not to lie, when you are near adulthood?”
Ms. Reign turned her body to face Ms. Georgia, tight lipped and tensed, while still keeping her face in level with the microphone and in an absolute fashion declared, “You are an adult. You are not fit to run this country.”
The moderators attempts to settle the audience down for Ms. Georgia. She is owed a rebuttal. This attempted is doomed from the start. Half the crowd is standing and the whole group is cheering.
Ms. Reign watches the moderators with a smirk on her face. She turned to her opponent and the smirk quickly turns smug.
“There’s no coming back from this,” Ms. Reign thought. “I won.”
