The Ice King And The Sun Queen
High above the city
In a castle made of ice
Rules the grand ice king;
Stony and cold.
He is cruel and uncaring
His people are of least concern
All the ice king cares about
Is his lost queen
Long ago
The sun people ruled a sunny kingdom;
The Ice ruled a cold world
Rivals constantly at war;
But though this hatred
Killed and destroyed
Two young heirs were enveloped in
Love
They devised a plan
To break through the ice
And blinding light
To forge a new path
One of balance and not plight
They tried to make a run;
To escape their parents war
But only got caught in the
Crosshairs
The sun queen;
Then a young heir
Was killed
In the ice kings arms
Many years after; though she never was crowned
She was made queen from beyond deaths veil
A statue was risen;
A sign of war and its consequences
And the ice kingdom was declared
Forever and enemy in war
So he retreated
To his family’s distain
Now a king to a desolate kingdom
He now lay in his death bed, many years later
cold as could be
Starring at the ceiling;
Thinking of his queen
“Will you be there; waiting for me?”
He asked solemnly
“Do you forgive me? For what i have become?”
He cried silently
Slowly his cold heart began to freeze up
But just before his final breath he saw her
Next to him, melting the ice
Was a queen made of pure light
She smiled at him and he instantly knew
“My queen; you have come to me at last”
She took his hand and guided him up;
Through the ceiling to a place beyond them both.
The servants opened the door and saw his body
He was not frozen
Or cold
Or pale
Or sickly
He was glowing and warm
A parting smile graced his lips
