I looked to my left,

And then to my right,

Later crossed the street,

On my daily walk.

Walking the paths,

That everyone takes,

Calms my heart,

In my stressful state.

State what you want,

The baker asked,

When I went to buy a cake,

To my usual spot.

Spot I did her,

Who’d held my hand,

And allied with me,

For my whole life.

Life but happened then,

Made us drift away,

How friendship as ours,

Could turn like this.

This stranger in the street,

Was yesterday my friend,

What’s stopping me,

Again from making her one.
