Arrogance and elegance

Tucked into one small frame

Eyes flicker to the window

Gaunt face estranged

from reality

Distortions and hallucinations greet

A meth troubled mind

He paces

The cocaine still in his system

The paranoia is still with him

Bloodshot eyes have stolen a nights sleep from a pacing skeleton

He’s convinced the place is overrun with police

When no one’s there

Sobriety is a luxury/ impossibility

Swears every second sentence grace his entrance

We are the well intentioned

Yet we enable

No one on this earth can keep him stable.
