The Constitutional Convention.
Finally, after so many years of work,I stand in the building of the constitutional convention. I know exactly what I’m going to say. I’ve been preparing for this moment since I arrived in the land of America back in 1772. Then..a voice..a familiar voice. The voice of Alexandria Williams. She catches my eye,her gaze piercing through my soul. My hands begin to sweat and my throat tightens slightly. Of course…just what I need. I attempt to stay calm and keep my voice steady but..it’s growing more difficult by the second.
As I begin speaking,I take a deep breath.
“Ladies and Gentlemen of the convention,I have a proposal for a new government system for our newly independent nation!” I am easily carried away by my burning passion of the topic I am speaking. I regain full composure and confidence as I speak. I look out at the crowd.
My thoughts are racing, yet I still maintain to remain calm, and speak confidently and, losing myself in my words.
My best friends Marqui and Jon are in the crowd, giving me a proud, excited look.As I glance around the crowd,I see someone…my political rival. I attempt to regain the full courageousness of just the moment before and suddenly I remember a small phrase I’d heard from someone close back in the revolutionary war when I was appointed general:
“History has its eyes on you.”
I take a deep breath in between my sentences,Remembering why I am even here. For the future of the nation. For my America. My thoughts are racing, yet I still maintain to remain calm, and speak passionately, losing myself in my words.
“That is my proposal, for the future of our descendants, the future of our people, and the future of the land we fought so hard for,Our nation America!” I smile,my full passion goes into these words, these testimonies of freedom, and the next step of our young nation.
I hadn’t realized at the time but I had talked for six hours straight.
Clapping erupts from the crowd. I look to my friends, who are clapping while smiling brightly.

I walk of the stage, joining Jon and Marqui in the crowd.
“You were extraordinary,Henry!”, Jon proclaimed,as he puts his arm around my shoulder.
“Oui,Mon ami. You were extraordinarily confident during your speech. Although,I could not expect any less of you.” Marqui says calmly, smiling as he speaks.
I smile at their encouragement.
“Thank you so much. I truly could not have done this without you two.” I say, getting slightly emotional.
“Of course. We would be lying If we hadn’t said those things.“ Marqui responds, smiling as he does.
“Exactly! There’s no way we can just not speak those things, they are all true.” Jon says, pulling me slightly closer to him.
“Truly, thank you two.” I respond, overwhelmed with the kind words.
“Anytime.” Jon looks me in the eyes smiling, his blue eyes shining.
