Grand vampire Oscar, first of his name, awoke. His eyes snapped open and a snarled curled his lip. His coffin opened with a shuttering groan. He rose, arms crossed against his chest.

The room was dark, pitch black. But his blood red eyes gleamed, scanning around the shadows with pure malice. He was hungry and ready to feed.

He raised his foot, preparing to step over his velvet cushioned coffin. But it snagged, as his shoelaces were tied together in a neat bow.

He pitched forward, falling over and out of his coffin. Right towards a creaky wooden chair. With a slam and a crack, he fell right on it. He let out a harrowing scream as it pierced straight through his heart with a sharpened wooden leg.

He collapsed, a expression of disbelief stuck on his cold face. His vampiric body began to burn. Embers lighting up the dark room as he smoldered, leaving behind only ash. A hush fell over the room, like a breath leaving.

The ash now indistinguishable from the layer of dust on the floor.
