Warmth
Stuck in time, constantly unmoving; Or that’s how it feels. Like a cold body of water, I lay frozen unable to breathe and drowning. You were like the sun on a warm spring day, starting to poke through the clouds and warm up the earth, heating the waters but still cold and stagnant. I felt the dull winter and ice, empty like the branches on a tree, until finally, the chill stopped. You touched me with your shine from summer, lighting my soul on fire with undiscovered life and desire for the fullness of the trees. You filled every inch of my being with so much warmth I almost completely forgot what the cold felt like.
