What happened to the old adage

What you see… Is what you get?

Yes…it’s one of my biggest pet peeves,

As it causes my skin to crawl…

When you change like the weather,

depending on who you’re around

or who you’re with.

I’m sure you don’t even know your

acting differently, you’re probably

totally unaware,

and that’s fine too.

I’ll probably never tell you it bothers me,

No…I’ll just let you continue to be you… (whoever that is).

I just want you to be real

I want you to just come correct.

Stop putting on a façade,

It causes you to appear odd and flawed.

It makes me unsure from one day

to the next,

which person will show up?

will it be…the real you?

or will it be Memorex?

All I ask, is that you treat me the same,

no matter who you’re around,

Just want you be real.

You have an enormous amount

of zest for life and an abundant

amount of positive appeal.

You don’t have to front and…

You don’t have to stunt.

Because at the end of the day,

I just want you to be real.

because the real you …

gives me such an amazing thrill.
