Mirrors

“No,” he said to me.


“Your mind is not in control. You are.”


We argue like this every other day. He, a long-time philosopher, would continually barrage me with his logic and reason. I would counter with my impulsive, feeling based arguments.


The village often gathered to watch.


“If my mind isn’t in control, why does our subconscious constantly whisper to us all the time?”


He pauses, as if contemplating if there was any value to my words. He looks almost surprised.


“Allow me to give you an analogy. Allow me, to introduce you to the mirrors of the mind.”


The surrounding reality begins to unfold and become unravelled, as a low rumbling pulse gives way to the inside of our minds.
