POEM STARTER
Using twelve stanzas, write a poem about each month of the year.
Different times
January, cold as the flu,
Snowy as some ashes,
Shivering as a scare,
January, as boring as a bee
February, as lovely as the sky,
but far too cold for as much as people know,
for the love is the only thing keeping people sold,
February, as rich in hope as cold in stone
March, as burdening as a death,
building up tension as someone walks into the room,
as if a cat met a dog,
March, the season of open doors
April, as pretty as a flower,
sweet and soft like a blanket,
the sun shines as a bright light,
April, the season for the springs
May, as warm as a lightbulb,
as fast as if the circuit clicked,
as pretty as the sun setting,
May, the season of starting summer shine
June, as hot as a grill,
swimming as fast as a shark,
tanning as long as a dog,
June, the season of hot summer smells
July, as loud as fireworks,
as celebrating as a birthday,
as american as it can be with the injecting popsicles from the heat,
July, the season for joy
August, as stressful as it can be,
struggling to find the right materials to blend in,
running to find the supplies that’s ran away,
August, the season of annoyance and worry
September, as nice as it’ll get,
the last time someone will see the sun and waves rise or fall,
the parting from the sky to clouds,
September, the season of savoring the time
October, as spooky as a black cat,
the streets running and packed with little kids in their identities,
as regretful as the gone past,
October, the season of adoration and fun
November, the sound of leaves crumbling on the wet ground,
crunching and crying as their skin begins to get buried beneath the cold,
November, the season of wintertimes beginning where the fall falls
December, the crunchy snow buried beneath boots,
shivering in a thick jacket to keep your feet,
the feeling of snow tipping on the tongue, but happy the presents could keep a heart warm at least,
December, the season of pure warmth inside but coldness when you walk
