Drawing from typical tropes of supernatural or ghost stories, create a short story set in an old manor house.
There's a Fire Buring
There's a fire burning,
In the wing and swing of the old grand nursery.
The children have gone mad,
No, the nanny had.
She's passed,
Long gone from this world.
She wants the children,
But they are gone.
Died in the fire,
The fire she lit with her ghost-like hands.
Hell gave her fire,
her fiery anger turns into actual embers.
She thought burning the nursery would release the children to her.
It did not, for they went to Heaven, and she was left behind.
Watching the nursery burn in the old manor she passed in and haunted now.
She couldn't leave this place.
Heaven didn't want her,
And Hell, it sentenced her spirit to this place. Forbidding her from entering Hell.
She had nowhere to go, no one to turn to.
Watching the fire burn.
The servants came, distinguishing the fire with buckets of water.
It was all dark now in a room filled with smoke.
The fire was out,
The fire in her was not.
They left,
She was alone.
The shaft from the moon bathed her.
Darkness had turned to night.
The night that reminded her,
The children are sleeping.
Sleeping in a place,
She'd never enter.
Sleeping in a place,
She'd never see them again.
She looks up to the night sky,
in hopes of seeing them dance among the stars.
In the room once burning,
in hopes of the children joining her.
In the old manor nursery,
There's a fire burning.
The fire is out,
And there is a dire chance for another.
For the fire once burning,
Is out and gone for good.
Her spark is gone.
Her fiery anger is nothing but a mere meaningless emotion that has controlled her entire life.
She realised now, that she didn't want it to control her afterlife too.
