His Honour
I am a representative for strength and agility.
I mustn’t let my opponents beat me.
We are getting set by the grass chalked line.
My opponents are faffing, the victory will be mine.
The whistle blows and my lengthy legs stride.
My opponents are panting and shambling side to side.
Did I cross the line…? my foot crossed in triumph.
The kids around me follow and puffing in the humph.
I go to my son who is sat in his wheelchair.
He’s the reason why I even care.
The other parents shake their heads and I just give them a shrug.
I kneel down and high five my son and give him a hug.
