The Necklace
Today I lost my favorite necklace. The necklace means alot to me because my grandma gave it to me just before she passed a few years ago. I have no idea where it went. I searched all over the place even the most random places. I sesrched under my bed, in all my dresser drawers, behind my shelf, in my closet, I even looked in the kitchen. I couldn’t find it anywhere.
When my sister got home from her after school activities, I asked, “Do you know where grandma’s necklace is?” All she did was look at me weird, laugh, and walk away. What the heck?! I looked somemore while I waited for my dad to get home from work. I looked in the bathroom, in the garage, and even behind the tv.
When my dad got home, I again asked, “Do you know where grandma’s necklace is?” All my dad said was, “Nope. No clue.” Then he walked away almost laughing. In a panic now, I searched even harder. I looked under the washer and dryer, in the kitchen cabinets, and even in the vase of flowers on the table. Still, no luck.
When I heard my mom walk in the door, I ran to her as fast as I could and as soon as I saw her asked ince again, “Do you know where grandma’s necklace is?” She responded with a confused look on her face, “Have you looked in a mirror recently?” “No,” I responded frantically, “I’ve been to busy looking for grandma’s necklace to look in a mirror!” “Well, I suggest you do that before continuing your search.” Mom said, a smile on her face. “What? Why?” I asked her, confused. “Just go.” My mom replied as she walked into the kitchen to grab some food.
I ran to the bathroom and looked in the mirror and I saw… Grandma’s necklace around my neck! After probably 3 hours of looking and it was on my neck the whole time! Why didn’t my sister or my dad tell me! Those jerks! Sighing, I walked out of the bathroom, defeated, and thanked my mom who simply said, “Sometimes the things your most desperate for, are right in front of you.”
(Btw this is supposed to be somewhat repetitive, so please don’t jump on me for that.)
