His arms felt like they were on fire. It seemed as if he had spent hours paddling down this river and still, every time he turned around they were still a few yards behind him. This was insane, he thought while looking down at the puppy curled up at his feet. All this trouble for a small dog? He didn’t get it. But after being repeatedly shot at and chased down a river in a rickety row boat, he figured this dog must be important. This is why he ignored the ache in his arms and kept rowing. Whenever he felt like giving up, the people chasing him would fire off another round, urging him on more. One of the times he ducked out of the way of flying bullets, the puppy lifted it’s head and stared at him. “You better be worth this,” the man grumbled.

He decided to put the paddles down after awhile and let the current of the river take him away as he laid back for cover and rest. He must had fallen asleep, as he was awoken by the dog licking his face. He groggily and gently pushed it away as he sat up to see how far away his chasers were. A cheer escaped him as they were nowhere in sight. He lifted the dog and wooped in celebration of finally being free. His celebration was cut short, though, as he noticed probably why the people stopped chasing him; they were fastly approaching a waterfall. His cheers turned to screams as he held on to the dog and the boat for dear life.
