WRITING OBSTACLE
Submitted by Maranda Quinn
Show a powerful emotion – love, grief, rage - in a quiet, everyday moment.
Instead of writing a dramatic and drawn out scene, think about how subtle actions and sensory details can carry the weight of the feeling.
Waiting
10 months have passed, meaning none of us grew enough to reach out.
I asked “would you want to try again in the future”
You thankfully said yes. My heart was thrilled, maybe we just needed a little time away from eachother.
Though, you following said “But, don’t get your hopes up”
What? What does that mean? Do you not like me anymore, do you not love me anymore.
The heartbreaking thing is that you said you still love me, but at what cost. You don’t love me enough to stay, to get through this together- no, you left when I was at my lowest, maybe you were at your lowest too.
I wish you said no.
