WRITING OBSTACLE
Inspired by Maranda Quinn
Your protagonist is running for president in a fantasy world. Today they must give a speech.
Use the contents of the speech and the emotions of the protagonist to introducing elements of this fantasy realm.
Escape….
Escape….
Where sanity wanes and reason unwinds,
There lies a place, a twisted maze,
Where echoes of despair forever blaze.
The walls, they weep with ancient dread,
They’re stone cold and damp, memories dead.
Each step you take, a whispering plea,
“Turn back now, for here you’ll never be free.”
The air grows thick,
suffocating, dense,
As if the very darkness conspires against sense.
Footfalls echo, lost in the abyss,
A symphony of fear, a haunting hiss.
No lantern’s glow can pierce this gloom,
No compass points to guide you from your doom.
The path winds on, a serpent’s coil,
Its venom seeping into your soul, unspoiled.
No escape awaits, no exit sign,
Only the endless twisting of time.
In this haunted labyrinth,
you’ll find your fate,
Forever ensnared, in the grip of no escape.
