Roses are thought to be the symbol of love, but that’s only the head. The stem of the rose is covered in thorns which is a symbol of darkness.

When a rose dies the beauty leaves and the love surrounding it dies as well but the thorns stay, the darkness doesn’t leave these flowers even after death.
