POEM STARTER
Submitted by Karman
Write a poem about the protagonist getting something off of their chest.
Auto Correct
Muffled voice reaching out.
In hush inner child pout.
Silent screams as I drive.
Watching to see alive.
Cars in acrobatics
Zooming between oil slicks.
Hondas hounding others.
Annoyed at world that grrrs.
Andrettis swerving roads.
Faith in other erodes.
Signals muted when zigzag.
I’m in a race that’s drag.
Light turned green I mutter.
Hey man. Can’t be cutter.
Wait. That car cut me off.
Then he takes next right (Scoff).
Cars stop for conga line.
Raspberries; forget fine.
Brakes put on. Then turn left.
No signals. Is car bereft?
