POEM STARTER

Write a Clerihew poem about a pet you have or want to have.

A clerihew is a four-line poem following an AABB rhyme scheme, with the first line including the subject’s name. It often puts the subject into a silly or unlikely situation – perfect for writing about an animal!

Judy

Judy; a name so unfitting for you. It’s average it’s normal; not anew. You are crazy, as crazy as they get. You ate all my pencils; how could I forgot. It’s a miracle that your still living! With all that junk in your stomach; just sitting. Your fur is so soft; something I simply adore. Your so majestic for someone who literally eats off the floor. You hate the rain, balloons, anything loud, and salad spinners. It’s quite odd that you enjoy the weirdest of dinners; Dried food, dirt, and occasional grass. All of your flaws are beautiful, but alas, You won’t be here forever. Your connection to this earth will slowly sever. So let’s make the most of your unearthly ballet. Even if you’ll sleep for most of the day. (Just something cute and short.)
