The Cat’s Opinion

I sit at my desk looking for something to write about. I think of all the things I've seen today that could be a story.

A kid in a puddle? Naw. A truck that splashes mud on a teenagers car, and his reaction? I shake my head. I look about the room. I can see the crowds walking past through my window. I could write about what I imagine that tall, gentlemanly old man’s story must be or the frustrated looking mother holding a baby in each arm. I could write a story about the picture on my wall or about my cat. Yes! I'm going to write a story about my cat. No, I'll write a story from my cat’s point of view.

I’m Tina, the most awesome cat in the entire world. My owner, Ginny, is always telling me I’m conceited, but I don't agree. It's just the plain, honest truth.

My neighbor across the street has a cat named, Spotty. I feel sorry for that cat. Her owner feeds her everything she wants, gives her everything she wants, except some love. She is an overfed cat, that always looks sorry for herself.

Now my owner is the best! She feeds me every morning before giving me a good long brush. She then sits down to write, while I take a nap.

At four o’clock in the afternoon, she gives me another meal, and then tells me I have to hunt up my own dessert.

Dessert is the best part of my day. She takes me down stairs and out into the field across the street. She sits on a bench to write, while I find dessert. There are mice, grasshoppers, and sometimes I can even catch a rat. I am the most perfect cat in the world!
