WRITING OBSTACLE
Demonstrate. Incapacitate. Solidify.
In a story of no more than 10 sentences, use these three words in any order. The point is to create a story line that allows you to link them all naturally, without forcing them into random places.
The Learning Process
“Whoosh! Bamb!” Were the noises that arose from the clash of the wooden swords out in the training grounds. A young student was currently getting tutored on dual-sword fighting.
“Sloppy, you’ll never incapacitate your rival with that form.” The tutor spits out, like fire, before serving on hard clash against the sword.
The student swerves out of the way before the tutor sword slams into the ground before heading towards the student again.
“Look at your stance, it’s weak, it allows to many openings to strike. When your rival comes at you, you should solidify. This way you’ll be like a bolder, harder to knock.”
The pupil takes on his warning quickly, demonstrating their fast learning capabilities, already putting it to work. They open there feet more for more solid support before taking the defense hand by running directly towards their tutor.
They raise there wooden sword before another clash…
“Clunk!”
The sharp end of the tutor’s sword falls to the ground, broken off. He only smiles at this.
“You’re picking this up fast, but not fast enough.” He says before he crouches down and swings his leg around, kicking his student’s leg from underneath. The student falls to the ground with a thud.
“The learning process doesn’t always mean picking things up on the first try.” The teacher says, helping his pupil up. “We’ll continue this next week, but continue fining your work, pratice.”
