Hopelessly Hopeful
I hold our little interactions close to my heart.
We have never truly spoken.
You probably don't bat an eye when I enter a room.
At least, not like my eye is trained to detect you anywhere.
How it can see that it's you simply by the way you walk.
To you though, I'm nothing.
And I don't blame you.
It's not like I'm anyone special.
Why would you notice me?
My hope still lingers though.
Do you ever observe, as I do,
How often we cross paths?
How many coincidences leave us in the same room?
Maybe that's all they are though
Coincidences.
And now it feels as if you are a million miles away.
Nothing I hear of your name is good.
I rarely even see your face.
Yet for some reason my hope is still there.
Am I delusional?
Please tell me I am not invisible to you.
