Brave And Beautiful

Bathed in golden light,

Birds sing sweetly from the branch,

Dandelion sway.

Concrete’s jagged scar,

Through the cracks, a flower blooms,

Brave and beautiful.

Sun begins to set,

Fiery Hughes now paint the sky,

The sweet birds retreat.

Black blankets the Earth,

Crickets chirp their serenade,

To indifferent ears.
