In A Way

As I stared through the window, I thought what I heard. “In a way. In a way, alright? No more. In a way.” “Maybe it will happen to me,” I say worriedly. “Love, when are ya coming down?” Oh great. Her. Again. I mean “Your always calling me.” “Okay, come down.” “No.” “I’m coming up myself.” “No!” “Fine. Come down.” “Nah.” “Fine, but shut up.” Ya know what? Ima just leave. I grab my bag and pack as much as I can. I grab my hoodie and a glove. I put them on. “Here we go.” “Ow!” I say in a couple of seconds as I break the window. “I don’t wanna do this.” I jump through. I close my eyes. I feel the hardest pain I could’ve ever felt, but I ran. I ran miles. And miles. ———~———~———~———~———~———~———~———~(years later)

“Love, can you come help real quick?” “”Emhm. Comin’.” “Alright, can ya help me with the food?” “Yeah.” I walk to the kitchen and grab the salmon and was like, “what were you doin’ when ya asked?” “I was-I was using this thing.” She points to the-well, I don’t know what it was called. “Okay.” “Uhh, you use it like th-“ “I KNOW HOW TO USE IT-“ ~———~———~———~———~———~———~

I hold hands with her as I we look onto the sunset. “Chars, come here.” “What mama?” “Love you.” “I love you too mama!” “And love, I love you.” “Love you too.” I look at her and say “In a way, this is a happy ending for both of us.”
