Gratine

Mice and rabbits, an animal they ride

Skin them and remove their hide

Bottle up river

And don’t shiver

Stir the mixture nice and slow

Don’t set it down too low

Blood from a pricked hand

Perhaps the princess’s hair-band

Apply it to an arm with tan

And carefully wait for the next man

Don’t let them make a second look

Before you fish out the thumper with a hook

Make sure the victim is aware

They aren’t going anywhere

The Gratine is ready

But still, take it steady

Soon you will be king

And own sparkling rings

Burn this recipe

And fate is in your hands

Now you can own all the lands
