Back of my mind
I stared at him, my soulmate.
Lucas Warren Yure
I forced a bright smile to my face. “Hi! Lucas?”
He gave an equally bright (but far more genuine) smile back at me. “Yep, Elizabeth May Tucker, I presume?”
We talked for a while and eventually I learned to love Lucas Warren Yure, the only name on my wrist. We got married and have a lovely little boy, Lewis Quill Yure, his soulmate Jordan Taylor Smith . We were the perfect picture of a happy name-matched couple. But throughout it all, our dates, our marriage, even the raising of our son, I found myself rubbing the back of my neck, thinking of the name there, on the back of my neck, the back of my mind.
So yes, I love Lucas, his name is inked on my skin after all. But I wonder about the other name, permanently resting on the back of my neck and the back of my mind.
Castiel Matthew Turner.
The other name in my life, the boy that might have been.
