Ghost Town

Music blared from my headphones as I laid back lethargically and skimmed my attention over the cameras. I yawned loudly and stretched. A few buttons from my shirt coming undone from the push of my belly. As i took a bite of the last chip in the bag, I tossed it at the already overflowing bin and licked my fingers.

Boring day calls for fun activity. I briefly glanced at the screens around me then flicked on Netflix and started playing the series I was currently into.

Just as the intro plays, I catch sight of a screen blinking. I turn my head and stare.

The view is overlooking the lift and it was showing that someone was pressing the lift button and blocking the doors, but... there was nobody there.

"What?" I muttered to myself as I looked closer. The lift alarm began to go off then it finally closed. I wondered if I should go down and check then decided against it. It was probably a technical issue. Until... it happened again and this time I could hear a child's laughter that the sound detecters were picking up. My heart began to race.
