In Secret

An Indeterminate if very pleasant time later, Sorel lay breathless and sticky skinned with Ginevra cradled close, Head full of tangled hair resting against her heart.

"Well I'll say flower mine... " The smaller woman murmured, hand idly tracing the contours of her navel piercing. "You definitely know how to use that fiery sword of yours."

"You just couldn't help yourself could you?"Sorel chuckled, tangling their fingers together. "You and your crude sense of humor."

" don't know what you're on about..." Ginevra murmured, sounding perilously close to sleep. "My sense of humor is glorious... stay until I fall asleep?"

"Always my gem" Sorrel whispered, lightly kissing the top of her head.

Against all odds Ginevra somehow managed to snuggle even closer. "Love you..."

Feeling very close to tears all of a sudden, Sorel bit her lip and held on tight to the beautiful woman in her arms. "I love you more."

Once she was sure Ginevra was firmly asleep, Sorel reluctantly disentangled her self and re-dressed in her uniform with barely a sound. She allowed herself an indulgent moment to look back at the slumbering form of her beloved, countenance untroubled and hair swirling about in a fiery halo over snow white pillows.

What I wouldn't give to protect her from this madness!" Sorel thought to her self, slipping back into the dressing room and beginning the arduous task of retaiming her hair. "Please lord of the sky and Lady of the earth... Watch over her in all the ways I cannot."

Upon determining her reflection was back to its normal intimidating standards, Sorel knocked quietly on the door to the study to signal her leaving, before exiting Ginevra’s Chambers just in time for The changing of the guard. It was high time to go deal with her own emotional turmoil, preferably by incinerating something.
