The ‘It’

She sat alone in a room, everyone was gone. There was a knock at the door.

Who could that be, for everyone was gone? She was about to open the door when the person on the other end, though, opened it first.

A dripping face, scars, chunks of lips and ears missing, an unholy smile that spread from ear to ear.


“Hello.” She— no, it— said with a sharp but ancient voice that cracked at every note, “Ahhh, my final victim.”


It reached her cold and wrinkly fingers forward.


Before she could scream, everything went dark. Then silent.
