Here Ye, Come All…

Ah, the Magical Circus! Tis a time of joy, fun, and endless possibilities! It’s a sanctuary to young and old alike, a place to escape the tragedies of the everyday shuffle. Everyone wore bright smiles and the whole Circus buzzed and bristled with enthusiasm. She always seemed to light up a bit more, with every new face that entered through the grand arch. The merry-go-round’s music turned even an adults spirit youthful, and the Ferris wheel loved playing tricks the most. He loved convincing people they had gotten stuck on the tip top of his large sphere. Horses hooves thrummed soundly through the wonderful place and balloons of all different shades filled the sky and drifted up so high until they popped and even more vibrant confetti sprinkled onto the people below as they marveled. It was incredible!

Distant voices of actors filled the atmosphere with laughter and excitement. It provided individuals a sense of adventure. Oh, how awe-strikingly simply it was to get whisked away by the charm of Magic Circus! She truly did her absolute best making the place every bit more welcome, unforgettable, and extraordinary! Many had tried to replicate the wonder of the Circus in their own, including the overwhelming mirth. But it was absolutely impossible. Magic Circus was not just any ordinary circus who decided to slap on the name β€œmagic” without reason. She lived up to it and used every bit of her conceivable illusions to shape the place into somewhere in which people could finally gain ultimate happiness for just one night.

Despite the people’s overwhelming prosperity in the midst of her wonders, Magic Circus wasn’t as bright as her bright lights, bright-faced actors, and exhilarating rides portrayed. Illusions were all they were, no matter how real they seemed. It was what hid underneath that truly should’ve mattered the most. But the Circus’ sole intent was make beauty and fun where there was none. Because of this, many were blind to what lie below, behind the curtains of her magic. Stepping into Magic Circus was like willingly taking drink after drink until everyone was sick and delusional with excitement. If she could show them the truth, there would be no hesitation, even if it cost her her life. Sadly, the Circuses’ curse prevented her from uttering such things. It forced her to hold secrets in the darkness and caused her into a pending state of despondency. Her existence was ironic in a wayβ€”she displayed happiness that was ultimately counterfeit. Of course, this was not her fault. This was the doing of her creator. He, Jester the Jubilant, was the only one who could lift the curse of her sealed lips, but he had died many years ago, leaving her and to her own, unknown demise.

β€œHere ye; come all to the Magic Curcus! Folks of age and folks of youth alike, join us on this great adventure!” one of the actors crowed. Oh, how their faces lit up. It was like watching moths aimlessly coaxed into calling flame. Only the fires didn’t burn. If anything, it felt as though they were being healed and set free.

As tent’s red and white stripes glowed, people laughed, and the grand fireworks, confetti, and music played, the more bewitching the place became. Magic Circus was known as the largest circus around the world. It appeared even more glorious with its striking colors, glowing rides, and delightful food. Animals as intelligent as an elephant and so talented you’d think they weren’t real. There was one thing that was real, howeverβ€”the shadows concealed by the powers of the curse. Just because something looks grand does not excuse it from the inevitable tragedies of the outside world. Magic has limits. This provides a simple route for evil to seep in. She would tell you what they were, if only she were able. Perhaps one day the curse would, by some act of mercy and some miracle, be lifted. One day everyone would see the inconceivable things Magic Circus did. One day there would be restoration and peace to the countless souls lost to the darkness of the Circus that everyone believed was vacant.
