Eyeballs

It was bad enough, I naively thought - hidden cameras in the workplace. Surely there had to be some kind of release or acknowledgement they had the right. The flaw in my thinking was in how I defined ‘they.’ They weren’t part of the company I worked for they were the eyeballs of a machine spanning buildings, blocks, cities. I guess this is how it starts. One day you have an idea of reality and the next a new one exists, even though it had existed for years just not in my reality.
