WRITING OBSTACLE
Over margaritas on the beach, two friends have a life-altering conversation.
Tiny Umbrellas
Seagulls gently serenade the warm sultry sands
As Marcy and Deb had margaritas in hands.
Pausing between sips to prattle about what’s up.
Marcy in soliloquy let slip about hiccup
In her routine about her unctuous new boss
Who would go on about his ill perceived hair loss
And how each day blurs into next and Deb puts in
Her two cents about Marcy seeing life with grin.
Marcy is bemused about barefoot walks on beach.
Then meandered second thoughts and it’s overreach.
Deb’s eyes agape at thought of having Marce moving
Into her thatched cozy cottage and thus behooving
friend to start anew and paint seascapes or some such
Venue. Marcy with lilting air by thought charmed much.
By fortnight, darkness melted in day to light hand
Upon Marcie’s canvas horizon to expand.
