Footprints Fading
Drop off is always hard, saying goodbye was too harsh but saying see you later meant you would be back.
Tears filled in the eyes of a blonde headed, blue eyed little girl as her mother drove away. You could hear the kicks and screams of the child for miles away.
The mother looked behind her as she wished this wasn’t the day. Every other Saturday again and again would this scenario repeat in the back of her head.
Once she got home, she began to clean her little girls room and do her laundry, she would pick up the little girls pajamas that she wore the night before and wish just someday she would live with her for good.
As she would place everything back to how it was, resetting it for the next visit.
She begins to think “how was I so dumb for allowing the visit several years ago to lead to the kidnapping of my own daughter”
Yes you heard the correct. Her own daughter was kidnapped. She was forced to have these supervised visits by ones who were emotionally and mentally abusive. She was forced to come to terms that you have to be silent so people don’t think you are crazy.
She then married her Prince Charming who would help her step away. Even though she was safe she had to walk away from her only little girl.
Was it worth the pain? Was it worth all the fighting? Will she be okay? How could her child’s father and her own parents do this to her?
As the tears flow down her face she looks up into the clouds and her memories is all that she has left…
footprints fading.
