My hopes seem to soar, as if they are an eagle
My ambitions over take me, like a fire among a forest

If blessings were like stars, I’d say I’ve had many.
If love was all I had left, I’d say I have the world
If my heart were a compass, I’d say it has pointed me in the right direction
I think you and I approached this prompt from a similar place but wound up with very different poems. I like the way yours led. One piece of feedback is the line about blessings/stars - I think the “I’d say I’ve had many” would be relating to the stars, so you may want to change from stars to something that people typically have many of. Nice job.
Beautiful—I especially love where the poem turns from if-then to more complex images, lines 8-. My only feedback would be to be more conscious of and deliberate about your line breaks. It will completely change the tonality in the best possible way.
