POEM STARTER
Write a Horatian ode to a fictional character that you admire.
Horatian odes are short lyrical poems that deal with themes of love and friendship. They are written in stanzas of 2 or 4 lines, with a consistent metrical pattern.
Day man
If admiration granted wishes
I’d have everything I need
But I know you’ll never know this
Since you never learned read
I think that we could be good friends
If only space and time allowed
But it’s impossible, alas, and so I’ll ask
In your words, “what do now?”
